Les Zim'Theux

This musical section was set up in 1978 under Roger Maréchal and quickly made a name for itself in Mediaeval and Renaissance music but also in the traditional repertoire of folk music.

Their vocation is to perform at fairs, markets, festivals, dinners, etc. They have many engagements such as at Franchimont, Sart, Arbrefontaine, Olne, Villers, Limbourg - but also Scheveningen (Netherlands), Charmois (France), etc. Their presence lets everyone discover the instruments and costumes of yesteryear.
The group, made up of 20 amateur musicians, is under the leadership of Commander Jean Rouault. Jean Pirotte is in charge of the "Renaissance Music" section and Marcel Meunier is in charge of the "Traditional Music" section.
