A word from the Mayor

Theux, La Reid and Polleur, which make up the municipality of Theux, are small towns and villages full of history. 

Who is not familiar with the epic of the 600 Franchimontois and the radical texts issued by the Polleur Congress?

Thanks to this prestigious past, over the centuries the residents of our municipality have retained an altruistic, friendly and unifying spirit. This is why so many activities flourish in our villages, hamlets and districts and this undoubtedly explains the impressive number of festive, cultural and sports associations which, day by day, organize a string of events open to anyone and everyone. 

There can be few people who have not heard of Franchimont's Mediaeval Fair, the Feast of the Court of the Cuckoo, the St. Fiacre Fair, etc.

They may be proud of their associations, but the residents are also proud of their natural and architectural heritage. Theux's Romanesque church, Franchimont's mediaeval castle, Polleur church's twisted steeple, the tree-lined walk at La Reid, the many pedestrian, cycle and bridle paths, the Mosan-style houses, Le Rocheux nature reserve, Le Staneux wood, the sources of the Ninglinspô, and plenty of other things besides are undeniable assets for us. 

In the face of so many potential discoveries, Theux Municipality is an interesting destination for tourists, whether passing through or staying for a few days on holiday, and its residents will be delighted to receive them and tell them about all these marvels. 

The municipal services are available for everyone of course, whether citizens of Theux or visitors to our municipality, so that we can guide them to the best of our ability in their quest for information.
