  Study bursaries

For general and practical information on the conditions for receiving a study allowance (bursary) or loan, first go to the website of the French-speaking Community of Belgium's Study loans and allowances service.

For information on the conditions for receiving a study loan from Liège Province, visit its Social Affairs Department website.

Also look at the sites of the colleges and universities which sometimes offer loans, bursaries or enrolment fee reductions according to the social situation of the student applicant.

Then go to the population service with the form or forms to be filled in and an identity document of a household member.

  Residence certificate

  • The certificate can be sent by mail to the beneficiary at the address given in the population registers.
  • You can apply only for yourself or a member of your family.

The certificates are free and can be requested by post, telephone or email.

  Certificate of existence

The law requires applicants to go in person to the population service with their identity card.

 

  Certificate of right of inheritance

Issued for a maximum amount of 743.68 €, provided that there is no testamentary or notary's agreement and that the deceased is not a home-owner (in these cases, you must contact the Justice of the Peace).

Come with the marriage record of the deceased.

 

  Legal cohabitation

CONDITIONS:  The declarants may not be bound by a marriage or other legal cohabitation. They must be "capable" in the legal sense. They must have a joint place of residence.

PROCESS: The future cohabitants must attend together. The application is signed jointly and the department gives them a receipt. The registration is carried out and takes effect that day.

  Certified copy

Certification of documents, which remains mandatory in certain cases, can be obtained from the population service. To do this the applicant must present the original document the copy of which is to be certified.

  Elections and electorate

The population file corresponds to the permanent electoral roll.

At election time, the service is available to give any information and will issue a copy of your polling card if it has been lost or destroyed.

  PENSIONS: Office National des Pensions and INASTI consultations at Spa

On the second Tuesday of each month 10.00 - 12.00, the ONP and INASTI organize consultations at Spa Town Hall (087/79.53.60)
- Office National des Pensions (for employees): in the office of Alderman Fr. BASTIN
- INASTI (for the self-employed): in the office of Alderman S. DELETTRE

These consultations are also available for citizens of Theux wishing to obtain information about their pensions.

  Vaccinations

Vaccination checks: each child of 18 months must have received the vaccination against polio. The certificate, signed by a doctor, must be handed in to the population office.

  Shooting and hunting permit 

In order to obtain this type of permit, you must first ask for an extract from police records.

You must be registered in THEUX municipality and come in person (+ identity card).

It is available immediately and free of charge.
